Dan and Heather,

I care and miss our chats and laughter already. We can help, the ML7 with anything you need or would like us to do, please let us know.

We (her forever ML7 sisters say "she is with the good guy now" and she went out with a bang, our dear lady friend.

I care and deepest sympathy to you both, Love, Jeanne

Dan, I don't know if you remember me from the Faith in Action conference at the Initiative Foundation a few years ago, but I just wanted to let you know that I am stunned at the sudden news about your mother.
I know that bone cancer is brutally painful, and I know that your mom is at peace now, but all I can think of is her chuckle when Joan (Roca) and I visited her on Monday (June 26, just a week ago!), her intense interest in the photos we brought of the MSU crew at the ALA conference we had just attended in DC, and her patience with the several medical interruptions during the 10-15 minutes we were with her.
She seemed so strong that afternoon, but now we know that it was her spirit that was strong while her body was stirring up trouble. I know her strength will help to sustain you in the coming months, but I cannot imagine losing two parents to this painful process in just seven years.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts; I've reread the chronology twice to try to understand how quickly your life changed. I feel like I know Heather a bit now from reading the blog, and want you to know that our prayers are with you both.

Heather and Dan - Our thoughts, prayers and love are with you. Dan, we did not know your mother well, but feel we knew her through the fine son she raised to be become our precious grand-daughter's husband, and our grandson.
